Seasonality is another important feature to take into account. Most tents are 3-season and can be used in summer and moderate conditions of spring and summer. However, if you like winter mountaineering or anything in between, choose from 4-season tents that are designed to withstand harsh winds and snow loads. But keep in mind that these tents are less ventilated compared to 3-season ones and can feel stuffy in the summer.
