Winter Sports Equipment

Winter Sports

When the temperature drops, and lakes and ponds freeze over, and snow begins to fall, for many outdoor sports enthusiasts it means it’s time to head indoors and prepare for next season. But that’s when winter sports fanatics come alive. We know how much you love to get out in the snow and on the ice, and the equipment we’ve gathered here will make all your winter sports activities amazing. Whether your thing is slaloming down a mountain on skis, catching air with your snowboard, sledding or tubing down a hill, exploring a backcountry trail on snowshoes, or gliding along the frozen surface of an ice rink, we’ve got the gear.

Skis don’t come in one-size-fits-all. For the best skiing experience, your skis have to fit you and suit the conditions. That’s why our selection includes skis of every length, width, and camber profile to suit groomed, packed snow and soft powder, and the type of skiing you like to do, whether it’s downhill, freestyle or cross-country. We have skis for kids and adults, and for every height, weight, and level of experience. They’re from the top names in the business and feature the latest graphics and colors. Snowboarding is like surfing on snow, and fun for all ages. Just like skis, you have to have the right snowboard for the job. We offer freeride (also known as all-mountain) snowboards, which are versatile, all-around boards for any terrain, and freestyle snowboards, which are shorter and wider, making them easier to turn. Freestyle boards are great for beginners and for performing tricks. Splitboards are another type of snowboard you’ll find here on our digital shelves. They can be separated into 2 parts and used with climbing skins to ascend slopes, and then reconnected and used like a conventional snowboard for the descent downhill. Our snowboards are available in a range of sizes, shapes, cambers, radius, effective edge, and amount of flex.

You’re going to need boots to go with your skis or snowboard, and we have hard shell downhill ski boots in sizes and with levels of flex to suit every skier, cross-country ski boots to match the terrain and type of skiing you do, and men’s, women’s and kids’ snowboard boots with flex to suit every riding style. Here you’ll also find downhill ski bindings for all skill levels, cross-country ski bindings that are compatible with all types of boots, and snowboard bindings that are just right for the terrain and your boots, riding style and skill level. We have ski poles for downhill and cross-country skiing in an assortment of lengths and materials and with baskets appropriate for hard packed and deep snow. In addition to the above we offer ski and snowboard wax, waxing irons, and tuning equipment.

When you’re ready to hit the slopes, transport your gear in style with our ski and snowboard racks. These carriers install effortlessly to factory and aftermarket roof racks, many have the capacity for multiple pairs of skis or snowboards, and most feature large buttons that can be easily manipulated with gloves on and padding to protect your valuable skis or boards. Of course, there are other ways to go zooming down a snow-covered hill and the alternatives we offer are just as much fun. Our selection of sleds and snow tubes will delight the kid in everyone. We have traditional runner sleds and wooden toboggans; lightweight, durable plastic sleds, toboggans, and discs; and inflatable sleds and snow tubes that will deliver hours of thrills and excitement. Our inflatables are constructed from heavy-gauge PVC with a crack resistant additive to ensure reliable performance over the roughest terrain and in the coldest temperatures.

Any skier, snowboarder or sledder knows that falling is part of the game, and when you do go down you can make sure your head is protected with one of our helmets. Featuring a lightweight, impact resistant thermoplastic outer shell to shield your head and spread the impact energy, shock absorbing foam inner liner, draft-free ventilation system, and a removable and washable moisture wicking liner to help keep you warm, our helmets are available in several sizes and colors. The wind and sun glare off the snow can really do a number on unprotected eyes. Our goggles will prevent damage from airborne particles and keep your vision clear. They’re available in a wide range of tints and they provide protection from ultraviolet rays.

Snow is great if you want to slide down a slippery hill, but it can be an impediment if your favorite outdoor activity is hiking. Walking in boots on hard packed trails isn’t a problem, but if the ground is covered with deep, freshly fallen snow, with regular footwear your feet are just going to sink through to the ground, you’re not going to make much headway, and it’s not going to be any fun. With our snowshoes you won’t have to stop hiking when the white stuff falls. They support your body weight over a larger area, so you won’t sink into soft snow and struggle with every step, and they’re equipped with claw-like crampons that grip on snow and ice, so you won’t slip and fall. We offer men’s, women’s, and kids’ snowshoes for all kinds of terrain and snow conditions. And along with adjustable poles that can be shortened and lengthened to suit the terrain and direction you’re traveling, we also offer complete snowshoe kits that include snowshoes, poles and a convenient carry bag.

But snow isn’t the only attraction for winter sports enthusiasts, many cold weather athletes and outdoor recreationists look to the ice for exercise, fun, and adventure, and we’ve got your gear whether you want to climb, skate, or take a wrist shot and put the puck in the net. Climbing a shear rock face is extremely difficult, but ice climbers take the climbing challenge to a new level when they ascend frozen waterfalls and glaciers. We offer a large selection of crampons with different numbers of points, with single or dual front points, with flexible or semi-rigid construction, and with step-in, strap-on, or hybrid bindings, so you can get the pair that is right for your boots and give you the grip you need for the climbing conditions. Here you’ll also find crampon accessories like anti-balling plates to keep snow from sticking to your crampons, flex bars in several lengths, and of course, ice tools and ice axes. Our ice axes are available in a range of lengths and weights and with straight or curved shafts, so you can tailor your selection to your size and where you climb, and you can choose from ice tools with a hammer head or adze.

If you prefer gliding over ice that’s horizontal instead of digging into the vertical kind, we have the ice skates for the job. Our ice hockey skates have blades that are curved at the front and rear, for maneuverability, and stiff, rigid boot shells for support and protection, and our figure skates have leather or synthetic leather boots and longer blades with jagged teeth at the front called toe picks, for pivoting and jumps. They come in sizes for men, women, and children and in styles, construction, and prices suitable for beginners and casual skaters as well as more experienced and dedicated enthusiasts. And no matter whether you participate in a youth or adult hockey program at an ice rink or just like to get together with friends at the local frozen pond, we’ve got your hockey gear. In addition to skates, here on our virtual shelves you’ll find helmets, cages and visors, jerseys, pants, socks, shin pads, elbow and shoulder pads, hockey sticks, and equipment bags. If you’re not close to a rink or iced over lake or pond, we even have portable rinks in various sizes with pop-up or inflatable sides, which can be set up on a flat surface in your backyard and filled with water that is then allowed to freeze.
