Sights

Accuracy is the basis for a successful shot, whether you are engaged in a competition, hunting, or backyard plinking. For you to be able to shoot most accurately and effectively, firearms and bows are equipped with a sight to align the target with the barrel or the arrow. The most basic sight has two aligned elements, one at the rear and one in the front of the barrel; the target act as the third point of the system. The working principle is simple and follows the Euclidean geometry corollary that states that one and only one straight line passes through three aligned points.

Most weapons come with a factory sight which is constructed to meet standard requirements. All too often, it is a fixed design as it is a more cost-effective solution. Some shooters prefer fixed sights, while others use their adjustable counterparts. The latter typically provide windage and elevation screw/click adjustments for more accurate shots.
