The Original K.I.S.S., with its Tanto-inspired blade and bead-blast finish, is the revolutionary high-tech statement by Knifemakers' Guild member and K.I.S.S. designer "Daddy K.I.S.S." Ed Halligan. It stands for "Keep It Super Simple." The Original K.I.S.S. blade shape is Tanto-inspired-Chisel-Point grind on the front and flat on the backside-so that when the blade is closed onto its handle/frame, the precision fit effectively "seals" the cutting edge to the frame, even though it's exposed. Both Razor-Sharp and Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated edge grinds are available. Both blade and frame are 3CR13 stainless steel in a fine bead-blast finish.

Like all folding knives in the K.I.S.S. family, Ed Halligan's unique two-piece construction features an integral frame lock, and a breakthrough design which seals the cutting edge against the handle. A thumb stud is used to one-hand open the blade, and as the blade is fully rotated open, the frame lock snaps crisply in behind the blade to give a sound lockup. The blade can be closed with one hand, simply by releasing the frame lock. The Original K.I.S.S.® blade shape is Tanto-inspired-Chisel-Point grind on the front and flat on the backside-so that when the blade is closed onto its handle/frame, the precision fit effectively "seals" the cutting edge to the frame, even though it's exposed. Warranty

RKT LIMITED LIFETIME KNIFE WARRANTY This warranty covers any defects in materials or workmanship. If one of CRKT knives ever breaks or fails because of material or manufacturing defect, the brand will repair or replace the knife.

This warranty runs as long as you own your knife. Coverage ends if you sell or otherwise transfer the knife to someone else, or if your CRKT knife is modified in any way.

This warranty does not cover breakage or failure due to misuse of the knife. Knives as good as CRKT ones rarely break or fail because of a defect. Usually they break or fail from what CRKT calls “tool abuse”—using them for unsuitable tasks like prying or pounding. Therefore, blade tip breakage is not covered by the CRKT warranty. Use of a knife for any purpose other than cutting voids the warranty. (The exceptions to this caution are the A.B.C. Aqua and MAK-1 Multiple Access Knife which have tips designed specifically for prying.) So please match the tool to the task, and use your knife only for cutting. The knife will last longer, and you’ll be safer too. This warranty does not cover failure of mechanisms due to your failure to properly maintain them. Also, consequential and incidental damages are not recoverable under this warranty. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of consequential damages, so this exclusion or limitation may not apply to you. Misuse of your knife can cause serious injury or even death. It can also cause your knife to break or fail and the CRKT limited lifetime warranty will not apply. Failure to properly maintain your knife also may cause its mechanisms to not function properly, which could result in injury to you or damage to the knife. Follow the do's and don’ts which are included in your CRKT knife package and the knife will last longer, and you’ll be safer too.

Automatic Warranty Information CRKT knives and tools have a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects. If your automatic knife qualifies for warranty, you must return it to the place you bought the knife.

Automatic Knife Operating Instructions To Open: Slide the safety lever* back to make sure it’s disengaged and grip the knife securely. Push the activation button with your thumb – the blade will open and lock into position. For additional security, move the safety lever* forward. To Close: Pull back on the safety lever* (if engaged) and push the activation button to release the blade from the opened and locked position. Close the blade until it is secure in the handles. Slide the safety lever forward to securely lock the blade in the closed position. To Change Clip Position: Use a T6 Torx wrench to remove the clip screws. Apply Blue Loc-Tite and reinstall clip screws in desired location.

Automatic Knife Maintenance Instructions Lubrication: At CRKT, they lubricate the pivot with Sentry Solutions Hi-Slip Grease which will last a long time. If the knife action slows, try a small amount of Break-Free or a similar lubricant in the pivot area. Pivot Adjustment/Frame Screws: The pivot is secured with Red Loc-Tite. Do not attempt to adjust the pivot. If the pivot screw becomes loose, new Red Loc-Tite must be applied. Do not attempt to adjust the frame screws; adjusting the frame screws breaks the Loc-Tite seal. Blade: The blade steel is high carbon CPM154 and the exposed edge will rust if not properly maintained. Carefully apply a light coating of 3-in-1 oil to the cutting edge periodically. Sharpening: CPM154 is a very hard, high-performance steel, and sharpening can be a challenge. CRKT recommends taking your knife to a professional for sharpening.

The CRKT Accessory Warranty CRKT accessories, including deployment systems, carry systems, and sharpeners, have a one-year limited warranty against defects in material or manufacturing. The CRKT LED Light Warranty On those CRKT products which contain an LED flashlight, the light mechanism has a 90-day limited warranty to the original purchaser against defects in material or manufacturing. Proof of purchase may be required for warranty claims.

Missing Parts If you are missing parts such as a screw or clip, CRKT provides replacement parts for most of its models.
