Depending on how much stuff you plan on taking with you and how long you will be carrying it, you have to decide whether you need a daypack or backpack. Daypacks have no internal frame and typically measured between 1200 and 2500 cu in and are designed to carry loads up to 25 pounds. As the name implies, a daypack is usually used for carrying things that the user may need during one day. You can take it to school, work, or use it to pack gear for such activities as hiking, climbing, cycling, and so on. High-quality daypacks, offered in our store, may feature a padded pocket for a tablet, mesh water bottle side pocket for quick access, front pockets for small items, attachment point for safety light, and much more.

The size of a suitable backpack depends on where you travel and how long you plan on staying off the grid. If you usually go for overnight camping trips, an 1800 – 3000 cu in backpack should be enough for you to take all the necessary gear with you. To spend 2-3 nights in the wilderness, choose a 2700 – 3400 cu in backpack. For more extended trips, the volume of your backpack should exceed 3400 cu in. Make sure that the backpack you choose fits you properly, and its suspension system is designed to carry the required weight. If you plan on carrying more than 10 pounds in your backpack, we recommend choosing a framed backpack with a framesheet and padded hip belt.
